In our country of 59 million people, there is still thousands of people in South Africa that are going hungry daily. There are families and children going to sleep without a meal and jobs are being lost daily. On the home-front, we find ourselves in a community of 29000 people where there are people around us in the Westrand that may have found themselves in an unfortunate predicament on the backfoot of Economic uncertainty and more recently, COVID-19. Unemployment is currently at a record high of 32,5% and we as STINT need to do our part in “Supporting those in Need”. Our Purpose is never to hold judgement or question how these circumstances have arisen, but to render support, and only if we have the means to do so. As a community, we have realised that there have been people in isolation, taking up this initiative on their own to help others. After realizing that we are not in alone in what we are doing, many others have come forward as a community to lend support to this initiative. The social media platform has been the only saving grace used to get the word out to all in our community, that STINT is here, and we care about our community.
